Live

I walked on
And on
And on
Wore the shoes
they gave me
Never enjoyed the sand
Mirage of appreciation
And sand dunes
of lies
What I hold is
Slipping away
I am in woe
of losing what I don’t want.

I set the roof so high
I can’t hear the raindrops
Silver is the sky
and my memories in
Monochrome
Home
Where is home?
On this the stairway
to all things great?
This what I made love to?
A motherly embrace?
The unholy pleasure of
Substance?
Hence I deem
it meaningless.

That hickey on your body, meaningless
Top of the stairway,
meaningless
The strip under your tongue,
meaningless
The castle on the clouds,
meaningless
Warm touch of mother,
meaningless.

Mother
Dilemma
I do not know
Whether to live
Or to live longer?

Slow Dance

The pavements of stone
Yellow lights from
Lamps on colonial
Lampposts
Aged are the
Buildings
Cracks in the walls
Lights creep out
Lights sneak in
You walk out
Of the dusted
Wooden door
It creaks to announce
Your arrival
All ballads fall short
To describe your dress
Your walk
The subtle yellow light
On your face
And the way you
Don’t talk
Your dress sways
And so do you
Eyes widen
Hearts beat faster
The look from the window
Dusted but clear
I see what I want to
Not the beauty queen
Beside me
I wish it was me
I wish it was me
Who was holding
Your hand
One on the back
To feel the satin
Again
I was
But I want to be
The guy in the black shirt
Rains
It rains over me
Still I practice
Hoping a day would come
We will sweetheart
Dance in the dark.

Black Rose

They watered you
they watered me

Green sepals and a
beautiful bud
our leaves
our thorns
alike.

The soil alike
our roots
intertwined
I thought we'll be
thrown away.

You motivated me
you are beautiful
you said
in your own way.

They looked at me
but did not understand
turned to
you
sunshine to you
my love I said.

We both don't move
But you move.

They watered you
they watered me

They plucked you
They plucked me

You ended up in lover's arms
And I on soil again
of a burial ground.

You still said I
was beautiful
But who saw?

No one to bat an eye
at the black rose
 "More sunshine to you"
You beautiful pink one.

Three Fishes

Life is becoming too simple
Like the water of  a quiet pond
Silent surface, but life inside
The thing is though
I don't wish to dip my head in.

I could jump from where I am
into who I am
to be the only one alive
in this deep blue water.

I try to drown everytime
but the void inside
resurfaces me.

She stopped me this time,
said I'll come with you
I took her hands and jumped we
She leapt into the darkness
down below.

"There's nothing here, why is that so?
Just dead fishes, waters dark and slow"
She said I can help you bring some light
and released she three fishes
She swam above
her job was done.

I looked back and thought there will be light
The goddess of  had left all but to look at
three plastic fishes.

Tranquility (1)

Clad in a red robe
He washes his face under the waterfall
Everything is crystal clear
He gazes into the clouds
A short figure is coming behind
Distant smoke he can smell
It reminds him of a simpler time
Of chasing monkeys with his pals
Dewdrops on orchid trees
Give a sense of
Tranquility

But he’s not satisfied
With metaphors
He takes a sip
Gets on his feet
He needs his stick
An old stick
A gift from his mentor
So he says
Sturdy like the man himself
He takes his teachings seriously
For it his only half his trek

It is day 13
No he hasn’t yet
He doesn’t know if he’s close
There are though footsteps
Bigger than his
Sunk into the rocks
It is not the way of common men
For they simply do not
Understand
They seek peace in a lover’s hands
With fragile hearts and brittle bones
They can only contemplate
But he does not put his mind to that
For he has bigger things
To tread wet green rocks and
And jungles free
In search of
Tranquility.
(To be continued)

Beside

It is dark blue
But pitch black down here
I can see you
I can feel you
But I miss you
The night is cold
But you are not
For you always have been
Radiant.

I see silver moonlight
In your eyes
You are now just glass
Waiting for someone
To push you over
So you can break apart.

And once again I join you
And join you
To see what it’s like
To be so close to a certain end
Knowing this isn’t it
For the one you trust
Is right beside

But are you?

Steps

I walked the desert today
No asphalt, no trails
Just hot unforgiving terrain
You cannot lay slow steps
If you do
It will trap you

My skin is burning
My legs are giving up
Still I test myself once again
I’ll cross someday
This place which ate men

There was although
A muddy patch
Quicksand
I took a step of relief
Cool cool mud
But I cannot stay
I’m sinking
I must move

I seek comfort in people
In the same way
It is a desert indeed
I’ve found quicksand

Dilemma
Stay or move?
I’ve given up control
I’m sinking.

Unfinished

Little do you know
About what echoes in the seas,
The show of supersonic screams,
About what they perform, about what they dream.
 Little do you know
About what rots on the surface,
The little beings that consume his remains,
His bony hand up high, his head in the ground,
Holding a faded family photograph,
This corpse, their stage,

Come all fishes and surround.

Homeward Bound

I told my son, come walk with me.
One obedient son. But today he asked,
"But why, Father?" Although in fright;
"Son watch my back, as I challenge His might."
He was small and weak, so followed me.
As I tread along the mountain path,
My innocent little one, once again asked,
"Father, where are we headed? Why do you climb?"
I said they say up above there originates a light.
"Isn't it the sun, Father? That shines so bright?"
"Well" I said, "Stop the talk."
"This road is a challenge, will you let me walk?"
He did quieten up, and I walked on.
Another hundred steps, until he asked,
"But father, why would you?
Has He done a great wrong?
Are His hands red?"
This infuriated me, I said, " Your sister is dead.
He took her away. Still love Him?"
"But everybody says she rests in peace."
"Keep quiet Martin" I said "and follow up."
"But Father, He created nature.
He created the rivers, the valleys,
He created the forest and the tree.
He created the very mountain on which you walk so free."
I looked back at him, and as soon as I,
Did this I tripped, had a fall.
On the ledge, to hold onto my hand was all.
Thousand feet above the ground, so close to death.
A hand reached me, still heavy was my breath.
"Take my hand, Father", said my son,
And I shrank within.
The world around me shrank, too.
The moment of reckoning was here.
The moment of knowing what was where.
Holding my son's little hand, I shrank.
Little did I realise,
The years do not matter.
And the years did not matter.
What mattered in that moment,
was the journey,
Homeward Bound.
I in my child's innocent worldly ways,
Found my true calling,
As I was Homeward Bound.

Poem - Man's Tale

When the stars lost their shine
And darkness blazing forth.
When the days seemed numbered,
For the ground and skies both.
When the clouds seemed devoid of a silver line,
And the resting sun on the horizon lacked hope.
When the jaunty waves lost their moves
And imbecility overshadowed the gold.

And oblivion was on the way, it seemed as if
The devils of darkness from the underworld
Had surfaced to tackle man’s stronghold.
To cut down every raised hand,
To bring to ruin every bailey.
To bring obscurity to faith itself,
Not stopping unless every quanta of light
And every evidence of life was sold.

And the moment, defined by every man’s voice
Screaming, “It’s the end of days.”
In the wake of all the rusty skies,
Deeds became noble, and hearts went foul.
Venomed by the call of judgement
And ruled by barbaric austere.

Until one man, amongst the debris announced,
“Every dusk is a dawn, and
Spectral shows follow the storm.”
A spark which ignites the biggest fire of all.

Touché Shakespeare, well said,
“All the world’s a stage, and men merely players.”
But that one man led the skit of his time.
After whom everyone held hands,
And everyone felt strong.

When the darkness was won over,
All that was heard was applaud.
And He was just another man, who could take a stand,

Whom they called, their God.

Another small lesson

It was a chilly winter evening, the lamplight beaming down from the night sky. It was breathing yellow light, in an attempt to imitate the sun. As I walked down the ramp to the street, the cold asphalt, radiating peaceful vibes, and the proceeding blackness slowly uniting with the road. My eyes fell on the roadside. I witnessed a creature, one of the billion creations of God. It was a dog, relaxing on its feet, as stray as a weed on a deserted footpath. But he did not seem to care. Neither about the cruelty of the world, the harsh weather nor the sluttishness of time. I rested my bossom on the cold sands and sat beside him. He sensed my presence not more than the chilly winds. I turned to him, looked into his eyes. Like quicksand, his eyes were getting a grip on my regularity. It was not a mirror where you could see yourself. It was a window, a peephole. And I found a story hidden in his eyes. Some grotesque account, something that could not be woven into voices. His eyes sang a ballad his heart wanted to conceal. Silence surrounded him, gloom overpowered him. His innocent face hid the darkest secrets. I sat up on my place and offered him a loaf of bread. Forgetting everything, he consumed it completely, to the last, minutest quantum of it, with a sense of satisfaction man can barely imagine. So I let the silvery moonlight fall upon him as a healer. He reminded me of a past. Another regular evening, another small lesson, guess that is how its meant to proceed.

Poem- The Dawn

Daybreak,
The sun begins to shine,
and defines dawn.
When I look up I see
a cloud with a silver line.

Like a waterfall the sunrays,
washed away my sins.
And all the lakes turn to mirrors,
the same I was avoiding,
now I was bathing in.

And as I strolled on under the morning sky,
on the sunlit sidewalk wincing I.
Felt a fresh wind upon my face,
and as my walk ended,
a new life began,
I felt of a different race.

The grotesque chapters of my life I closed.
I have turned to a being from a corpse.
I have chosen this morning, for a life,
though  be I brimmed with remorse.

Short Prose - A Happy Moment.

And as I looked up to the sky, it all seemed so, routine. Eddie Vedder was playing, and I could feel that with every pluck of the guitar string, a chill went through my body. A chill, which gave me warmth. The 'just another day' suddenly felt beautiful. Every quanta, every drop of the river of time, flowing softly seemed to brighten the day, like it was calling me to bask in it and find peace. With the soft wind flew hair, like the slow, warm ocean currents. And a smile, as true, as right as rain followed. I decided to remain quiet, as it was the sound of silence, louder than words which was slowly carving that happy moment. Time was a slut no more, it was a wizard, showering glittered magic on me. On us. Every touch of which turned my vital signs off, with every touch fell my level of sanity, and with every touch I realised, the beauty of life.

Poem - The One

Thank you,
For being the column of my arch.
For being the beauty of my heart.
For being the one who takes a stand.
For being there to hold my hand.

Thank you,
For healing me when I did lacerate.
For cheering me up whatever bring fate.
For fixing up my Achilles' Heel.
For beauty of life making me feel.

My micro-cosmos has no one but you.
I behold to you, for being true.
I held your hand, this delirium I escaped.
And in this golden moment, my life was shaped.

For me you're the night, you're the day.
We'd be infinity, if we would stay.
So let's forth on this heavenly track.
All I ask from you is,
To love me back.

Poem - The Leather Shoe

Done and dusted, I watch the sun set.
Walk the unwalked, get sordid and wet.
I've got a twin, too, we have long walks.
Many priceless moments, many silent talks.

Together we were worn, coalesced we both.
For this journey of countless miles, we set forth.
Through dusk and dawn, we worn ourselves out.
But enjoyed ourselves, 'cause we both were stout.

But time's changed, it's not the same anymore.
I liked greens under me, like them journeys before.
We used to climb a thousand hills.
Jumping above rocks, all the thrills.

I recall all those days, in this rack.
Hoping to get the sun, get on the journeys back.
I know my fate, soon I will be thrown.
And only as a piece of leather, will I be known.

Poem - Hallucinations

As I relaxed, bent back on the chair,
Effete I was, dived into my mind.
And before I could realize, badinaged I
Seeing something unreal, reaching its hind.

And what I saw, left me flabbergast.
Those corners I presumed fallow, weren't the same.
Colorful memories, blooming like flowers,
But I couldn't recall any, what a shame?

What have I done to myself?
What have I become? Am I a waif?
'Cause when I was there, felt I serenity,
But now I'm awake, I feel unsafe.

And that's how my life flashed
Right in front of me.
The bloom of memories, hallucinations,
They set my soul free.

Poem - The Unspoken

Open them ears, O' listeners!
The walls want to speak.
They speak no great as a leader, nor sweet
as a song from a nightingale's beak.

What they reveal is an ugly truth.
A truth no one of us can bear,
says it sees a thousand die,
of a certain end we fear.

Of all the great visionaries that lived and died,
the wall still stood there.
It is yes, covered by royal blood,
but about it no one did care.

Spent years to contemplate, urging to speak,
to tell the truth I reckon
But you were so busy with mortality,
You never saw me beckon.

You perceived me as an obscure bailey,
while I protected in wars and marauds.
That young royal blood you praised,
while I deserved the applauds.

Poem - Horizon

It's me
In the morning, the evening you see
I caress the sun,as if he was my own
With me it rises, and shines bright
I know in the end, in me will it drown.

He sits in my lap, I spend nights with him
I am like a mother, overlooking her child
My hands upon him, I pat him mild.

It's my caring nature, due to which he
Shines brighter everyday, it's my love which
Makes him soar in the sky, merry and gay.

Above me resides god, below me man
Over me rests the great, Almighty's hand
Everyone searches for my heart, no one succeeds
I am the horizon, with me the day proceeds.
